Eligibility Criteria for OEC Jobs 2024: 

The applicant must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in medicine (MBBS) or an equivalent qualification that is from a recognized institution. Apart from that, all applicants must complete HIMAA, ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS – Introductory Course. Experience of at least four (4) years related to insurance claims processing or employment as an auditor in any similar health institution or insurance company is also required. The candidate must be 50 years old and below, at the time of application. It is also open to all genders.

The candidate must have an English proficiency of Level I and must be computer literate, Level II. Must also demonstrate knowledge of the medical coding, billing processes and clinical documentation as it relates to the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM). However, preferred, not required. This is regarding appointing a successful applicant with great competencies in dealing with medical coding and billing processes to ease claim processing and relevant documentation.

Responsibilities of Insurance Doctor

This will entail processing and auditing insurance claims according to specified procedures, including accurate medical coding and billing for RCM and review of clinical documentation, as part of the activities of the insurance doctor. The job role will entail cooperation with either health institutions or insurance companies to ensure that medical insurance standards are met at all times.

In addition, the Insurance Doctor must stay abreast of the evolving medical insurance policies and claims processes, providing expert advice on insurance-related issues. The position will, however, require compliance with major and minor rules and regulations set in the medical field on insurance claims.
