Eligibility Criteria for OEC Jobs 2024:

The candidate’s qualifications for Laboratory Manager are from 30 years to 40 years. A BSc in Engineering, B-Tech, or equivalent qualifications like DAE Civil are the required basic educational qualifications. The applicant should have at least 15 years of work experience, including the last 5 years in the relevant post of his/her experience.

Certifications of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 17025:2017, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 are preferred but not necessary. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and holding a valid Bahraini driving license is a must. The applicants must, however, be fluent in the English language. Knowledge of ISO standards and Arabic/Urdu/Hindi is also preferred.

Applicants for the Laboratory Technician post must be between the ages of 19 and 30, holding a minimum of a 3-year diploma in Associate Engineering or the equivalent science degree. The candidates must necessarily have some experience with ASTM standards and British Standards and also be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. A driving license should be valid, and fluency in English is required for successful candidates. Familiarity with the ISO 17025 requirements and the ability to perform various tests independently following project specifications are required.

Responsibilities of Laboratory Manager:

The Laboratory Manager oversees in-house as well as field material testing works for project schedules. It manages the upkeep and calibration of laboratory equipment and is responsible for maintaining safety standards and quality manuals. It also oversees the safe and secure transportation of samples from sites to the laboratory, ensuring proper storage and traceability along the entire testing lifecycle.

Analyze and verify test results so that they are compliant with relevant standards: The Laboratory Manager must inform clients about testing activities, including the timely preparation and submission of test result reports. Submit daily status reports to the Lab Manager. He will also submit QA/QC survey forms for new projects.

Responsibilities of Laboratory Technician:

The Laboratory Technician performs material testing such as sieve analysis, slump tests, and compressive strength tests according to ASTM and BS specifications. They prepare lab and site testing timesheets and reports and are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and maintenance of all related documentation. The technician is also required to take care of laboratory equipment cleaning, maintenance, calibration, and inventory control.

They collect and deliver samples from different sites to the lab for testing and follow established lab quality management system procedures, ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 requirements. The technician is also responsible for notifying the Lab Manager before the expiry of calibration of any equipment and the proper handling, storage, and testing of materials.
